Rotary enters Relay for Life - we are entering a Rotary team in the Relay on Saturday 14th March 10am-10pm. The other clubs in our area (Timaru, Timaru North, Oamaru, and Temuka/Geraldine) have been asked if any of their members wish to join our team. A link to register to walk in the team (or support) will be emailed out to all Rotarians and you can just click on the link and pay your $15 etc to enter our Rotary team. It will be a super fun day raising money and awareness for the South Canterbury Cancer Society.
Bushtown needs volunteers on Sunday 8th March for the annual Steam Up Day. Rotary are providing people to help with parking, we need probably 2 people per 3 hour shift (more people would mean shorter shift) and we are also doing a sausage sizzle. Please speak to Colin Dore or Mark Shefford if you can help with either of these tasks
Heads Up - we also have another Sausage Sizzle to do on Sunday March 22nd for the Sport Waimate Duathlon/Triathlon. Helpers will be required for this too please.

Fundraising movie this Sunday 8 March; "A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood". Based on the true story of the friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. $12 at the Regent Theatre.

WHITEHORSE BIG EASY - This was a super successful day with around 400 competitors. The weather was superb for racing and feedback from entrants was really positive. Many thanks to all those who helped organise and volunteered on the day. I'm sure one of the committee will give us a summary at Rotary.

Presidents Message
DISTRICT CONFERENCE IS COMING...
District 9980 Conference in Balclutha is coming around quickly and DG Tania and her team are putting in a mammoth effort to make it an amazing experience for us all. Registrations are slow coming in and I encourage all our Rotarians, their spouses/partners, and families to consider heading down South in April for a load of fun, laughter, friendship, and community service.
Registration has been kept to a lower price this year, and there are a range of accommodation options at a reasonable price - I can even organise an Air BnB to sleep 8-10 if needed, and of course people are encouraged to car pool or hire a van.
The programme is looking fab, so get online and check it out!
I would like to offer my congratulations and thanks to the organising committee for the Whitehorse Big Easy on another very successful event. Pats on the back also to the large number of Rotarians who helped on the day as these events aren't possible without the mass of people power. You are all fabulous!
I am looking forward to hearing Maddi Rogers speak this week on her trip to Nepal and we have a range of other interesting speakers coming up, a few of which are from our Club.
This weekend will be another busy one with some of us heading to Timaru to sew with the Altrusa group doing 'Days for Girls', and then many Rotarians helping with Bushtown Steam Up.
Our group of intrepid travellers head off to Kenya next week and we wish them safe travels.
I changed family in early February. New lifestyle because I’m in town ( golf , biking, gym ..) then I’ve been away for two week . We spend 4 days in Cromwell with the other exchanges where we had the occasion to do many activities thanks to the rotarians who hosted us ( jet ski , boat , waterski, paddle board , kayak... ) . A great life .
Then I moved to Queenstown for few days With a friend , we did lots a stuff like gondola , the luge , tramping.. I also had the opportunity to be part of the rotary meeting of the Queenstown,where I made a speech .
Back to Waimate I try to find things to don’t be bored . So I’ve been teaching French at st Patrick school which was a great experience (Calix)
