From the Presidents notebook…

Changeover tied in brilliantly with Matariki; a time of change and a chance to reflect on the past, celebrate the present and prepare for the future.

On Thursday we had our opportunity to celebrate the past year with Michael Horne and his exceptional team of directors. A huge thank you must be given to their commitment and perseverance during, at times, a challenging year.

My own personal journey began 12 months ago when I was asked to take on the President role. While I thoroughly enjoyed the ease into it I am ready to embrace the more demanding role with a wonderful team around me, and the club around them.

I write this first newsletter from the confines of my isolation room. It wasn’t the way I had envisioned this week going, but my recovery was made all the more better with the support of a loving husband, who tended to my needs and calls of the ringing bell with enthusiasm and care.

That, along with three kids under 9, a furry kitten, an art wall and an endless supply of FBI files and Boston Legal, I not only emerge feeling better but with the amusement that I can commit the perfect crime, but should I get caught I can rely on my nonsensical banter and humour to find myself not guilty…
