My company will be reviewing the current controls for the Covid-19 virus and it is anticipated that I will be back to Rotary on Thursday 8 October.
For all of you who have pitched in and carried out my duties thank you. I think you will agree a call out here especially to Michael who I have annoyed every week.
Again, thank you. It has been a pain but inspiring to see how we all support our great club the way we do - unselfishly and willingly.

Outward Bound 21 days Mind Body & Soul
The search is on for anyone 16 to 18 years old who is keen to apply to be part of the Outward Bound course 2 -22 December 2020. Through JR McKenzie Youth Education Fund the District is sponsoring two placements each valued at $4,025. The committee will accept ONE application per club/school for consideration. Applications for District consideration close Friday 16 October 2020, therefore applications for Club consideration to Matt Simonsen must be received by Friday 9 October.
The final two candidates will be selected by the District J R McKenzie Youth Education Fund Committee. The committee’s decision will be based on the written application together with any supporting comments from the school and/or Rotary Club.

The Waihao River Enhancement Group have a planting day on 10 October, 10am at McCullochs Bridge. Approx 1000 plants so many hands make light work. Bridge your spade, hat and sturdy footwear. Register with Ken B.
Jenni and Brian Kitchen are moving to town on 30 October and Rotary are helping them with the move. Please keep the day free to join the moving squad.
Russell and team have proposed a cycle trip from Duntroon to Oamaru either 15 or 22 November. The trip will end at Scotts Brewery for beers and pizza.

New to Meals on Wheels delivery - the last meal needs to be temperature tested. Instructions given when picking up the meals.
Clean To The Last Drop - The Events committee are running a beer tasting event at The Waimate, sometime in October or November.
The theme for Foundation night on 26 November is "Pacific". Dust off those colourful costumes and please think about who you can invite along as this is an opportunity to showcase our club.

On the 24 October is World Polio Day and to celebrate this our Club is holding a grocery and $100 note raffle down at the Rotary Kiosk at the New World Supermarket on Friday 23 October.
We are looking for members to donate, non perishable grocery items and help to man the raffles. There will be a container at Rotary for you to bring along items for the raffle. All proceeds will be going to "End Polio Now."

Inner Wheel Silent Auction 22 October
This is a chance for members of our Club to purchase some fabulous baking, jams, chutney and sauces from those great cooks that we know are in the Inner Wheel Club. This is their main fund raising event and they value your support in this. This is the same night as the great cook off which is the Community Services team, they might bid on the baking for dessert!!!!
